What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Marketing communications

ELC does not currently use personal information submitted through this website for email marketing or general promotional messages. We use contact details to respond to enquiries, process registrations, administer courses, and send service-related information. If ELC introduces marketing communications in the future, we will request separate optional consent before using contact details for that purpose. Declining or withdrawing marketing consent will not affect access to our courses or services.

ELC course terms

1. Course fees must be paid in full before the trainee begins studying. 2. Trainees must follow ELC’s conduct rules. ELC may suspend a trainee for misconduct. 3. Trainees must use ELC furniture, equipment, and learning materials properly and are responsible for the cost of damage they cause. 4. A trainee is eligible for a refund if the scheduled course is unavailable or if the trainee withdraws at least one week before the course starts. 5. If a trainee withdraws during the first five days after the course starts, 50% of the course and transportation registration fees will be deducted. 6. No withdrawal or refund is available after the first five days of the course. 7. A replacement or second course bag costs SAR 170. 8. A trainee who does not pass may receive a 50% discount to repeat the course within three months of the course end date. 9. Trainees must attend at least 80% of the scheduled study hours. Exceeding the permitted absence may result in removal from the course and loss of certificate eligibility. 10. Certificates must be collected within three months after the course ends. After that period, the trainee may no longer claim the certificate. 11. No refund is available when a trainee discontinues the course. 12. A trainee who discontinues or is suspended may not resume the course after three months from the course end date. 13. A trainee who is absent or discontinued for more than two months must be reassessed before continuing. 14. If a trainee withdraws from a discounted package, the completed or remaining courses will be recalculated at the standard individual-course fees.

Who we share your data with

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
